SUE LORIMIER, has worked extensively as a chamber musician and accompanist over her more than 20-year career as a professional pianist. She received her Bachelors of Music in Piano Performance and a Graduate Degree in Piano Chamber Music from the University of Massachusetts at Amherst. After completing her university studies, she began studying and teaching the Suzuki approach to learning music. With this method, very young children learn to play their instruments the way language is acquired, through Imitation. She became a registered Suzuki piano teacher and is an active member of the Suzuki Association of the Americas. Currently, she teaches in Vero Beach and specializes in working with very young children and children with special needs. A Night in the Garden December 6, 2018

On Thursday Dec 6, 2018, the Gifford Youth Orchestra held a fundraising event at the Garden Club of Indian River County. The "Stars" of the GYO entertained in small groups to donors and potential donors and supporters for over 2 hours, and board members mingled to answer anyone's questions about how "More Violins Less Violence" works, giving Executive Director Crystal Bujol the opportunity to talk to everyone there. All in all with tickets, donations, and silent auction sales, over $8,000 was raised to help offset some scholarship costs ($1900 per student).

Helping to keep the costs down, Sunrise Rotary of Vero Beach Girls Night Out group catered, served and cleaned up, with Marty Lewis of Sunrise Rotary of Vero Beach taking the evenings' photos; Bill Edelstein of the same Rotary Club brought his generator powered lights to keep the parking lot safe.

November Concert

On Saturday November 4, 2017, the Gifford Youth Orchestra performed their 14th Concert and new GYO Choir performed their first concert. It was to a packed house at the Gifford Community Center. There were 15 orchestra pieces played with 1 piano solo and 3 choir numbers...Just a  joyful afternoon of music by the GYO Stars. Director Dr. Bujol recognized Larissa Pelt for her years of service and as a parent to Luke Pelt, the oldest and longest member of the GYO at this time.
