More violins - Better Tomorrows

First GYO Student to Join Vocal Coaching Class!

Christine Domingue 8th Grade student at Gifford Middle School, has been a member of the GYO for 3 years.  In January, she became the first student the GYO enrolled in Lynn DiMenna's Vocal Coaching Class.    In just one month, her violin performance has improved tremendously.  Christine has shed enough of her shyness that she is not only playing her violin but also performing as one of the vocalists in the Black History Program.  She will be singing a Gospel version of "Swing Low, Sweet Chariot," in Part 2.  Christine says, "I like singing the music I play on the violin.  It is fun!"

We look forward to her future performances and hope her violin lessons will continue to be fun with her new violin teacher, Courtney Diaz.

Christine Dominique - The Face of Vocal Coaching and Drama Scholarships

Have you have heard the old adage that "Practice Makes Perfect?" Are you aware that children often don't like to practice, so it is a real struggle to help them improve anything in their lives.  But, if we can find a way to make practice be fun . . . that formula would be worth our weight in gold!  Christine Domingue seems to have found it through out Vocal Coaching.  We believe she and other students will also find that to be true with our Drama Classes.  "Let practice be fun!"

Because she has shown such improvement in her violin lessons, the GYO wants to offer this program to all of its students, in spite of their ability to pay for the classes.  The GYO must continue to help children prepare for the "Better Tomorrows" in every aspect of their being, especially confidence and joy.  These workshops can help them reach the goals of their hopes, dreams, and wishes in spite of set-backs caused by the Covid 19 "Season."  We have chosen Christine to be the "Face" of this Confidence and Joy fund raising project to include Vocal Coaching and Drama as part of the instrumental classes, at no extra charge to GYO students.  Your donation will make this happen!  Thank you for supporting this "add on" to the GYO Curriculum!!!
